چکیده

In the presence of a warmer climate, increase comparative abundance fungal plant pathogens. Many most aggressive pathogens are soil-borne fungi. Alternaria species threaten food security as chemical fungicides currently used against them mostly ineffective because acquired resistance to active compounds. Broadleaf plantain (Plantago major L.) and rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis extracts, obtained by subcritical CO2 extraction, were tested for their antifungal activity investigate possibility use sustainable protection. The ability two extracts inhibit mycelial growth was studied in vitro assay on agar medium containing different concentrations (200-1000 μL L-1). spp. isolate transferred modified test calculating average colony after 5 7 days. Results showed that extract had an apparent reducing effect dose-dependent. Because this, it can be considered potential alternative natural fungicide synthetic chemicals prevent control diseases.

Screening Some Medicinal Plant Extracts Against Alternaria sesami, the Causal Agent of Alternaria Leaf Spot of Sesame

Natural plant extracts / products have the potential as safe alternatives for chemical fungicides in plant disease management. Methanol and pure methanol: water (50:50 v/v) extracts of peppermint, lavandula, eucalyptus, datura and nettle were screened for their antifungal activity against Alternaria sesami, the causal agent of Alternaria leaf spot of sesame at 5, 10 and 15% concentrations in Sh...

Rhizobia as a biological control agent against soil borne plant pathogenic fungi.

Rhizobia promote the growth of plants either directly through N2 fixation, supply of nutrients, synthesis of phytohormones and solubilization of minerals, or indirectly as a biocontrol agent by inhibiting the growth of pathogens. The biocontrol effect of rhizobia is due to the secretion of secondary metabolites such as antibiotics and HCN. Siderophore production in iron stress conditions provid...

IN VITRO EVALUATION OF SOME PLANT EXTRACTS AGAINST Alternaria alternata CAUSING LEAF SPOT OF Aloe vera

Aloe Vera (L.) Burn f. is a perennial succulent plant grown worldwide mainly for medicinal and cosmetic uses. During a routine survey a leaf spot disease of Aloe vera having infected plants with large necrotic, sunken, circular to oval, dark brown spots present on both surface of leaves was observed at SHIATS and neighboring areas. Microscopical examination revealed the presence of Alternaria a...

Genome Sequence of the Necrotrophic Plant Pathogen Alternaria brassicicola Abra43

Alternaria brassicicola causes dark spot (or black spot) disease, which is one of the most common and destructive fungal diseases of Brassicaceae spp. worldwide. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of strain Abra43. The assembly comprises 29 scaffolds, with an N50 value of 2.1 Mb. The assembled genome was 31,036,461 bp in length, with a G+C content of 50.85%.

Effect of Different Plant Extracts as Antifungal Agents against Alternaria Alternata Causing Leaf Blight Disease of Cabbage (brassica Oleracea)

Plants historically have served as models in drug development. The production of medicines and the pharmacological treatment of diseases began with the use of herbs. The antifungal activity of five different plants namely, Aegle marmelos, Carica papaya, Mentha arvensis, Nicotiana plumbaginifolia and Tamarindus indica were tested against plant pathogenic fungi Alternaria alternata. The plant ext...
